HAPBX Server Preparations

Reading Time: < 1 min

For VitXi WebRTC to operate correctly and securely, it is essential that your HAPBX server is configured with a valid Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) and trusted SSL certificates.

Although VitXi can technically function with self-signed certificates, this configuration is not recommended. Modern browsers enforce strict security and WebRTC policies that may prevent certain features—such as audio, video, or screen sharing—from working properly when using untrusted certificates.

To ensure full functionality and compliance with browser security standards, we strongly recommend:

  1. Configuring a valid FQDN (e.g., pbx.yourdomain.com).
  2. Installing a valid SSL certificate issued by a trusted Certificate Authority (CA).

Using a verified FQDN and SSL certificate not only guarantees smooth WebRTC operation but also enhances the overall security and reliability of your VitalPBX–VitXi integration.
